Christmas time...

My mother's kitchen is at present full of those best remembered scents, which - mixed together - mean Christmas atmosphere. There go almonds and poppieseed, yeast dough, sourkraft with mushrooms, dried fruits, fried carp... When the scent of fresh spruce tree will join, I will know it's Christmas without opening my eyes.

Gosia has already gone to her home town to celebrate Christmas with her family. It's all so strange. For me and Gosia it's the last Christmas we are spending apart. That brings a lot of thoughts, very serious, but very warm and joyful.

Christmas is there when there is a feeling that you are on a right way with those people you care most. It's the time when you can recapitulate your relations with them, to think how things can be renewed and restarted. It doesn't actually matter whether one believes in a newborn Christ Child or not, because the key is in the idea of being born new itself. To recapitulate and re-open one's life again. For me, as a Christian, that's what the newborn Christ Child brings.

I wish you warm and joyful thougts, my Friends. Thank you for being there. May it be a blessed time for you. Merry Christmas!
